Katherine Ellison: The Mommy Brain

The Mommy Brain: How Motherhood Makes Us Smarter - Katherine Ellison

Interesting science, but I found it depressing. All the stories of mothers who managed to parent AND use their brains were about ultra-successful women: a university professor who shared a tenure position with her university professor husband, a Pulitzer-prize-winning journalist, an accountant who quit her job and started her own business because her employer didn't support working mothers, and of course, the author herself, who worked throughout her children's early years (even after the loss of her Brazilian nanny). The rest of us are, apparently, still screwed. ;-)
