The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2005

The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2005 - Dave Eggers, Beck

I love short stories. I don't read enough short stories. It's wonderful to pick up a collection of stories written by different authors, so that the book changes completely every few pages.

My favourite was "Tiger Mending" by Aimee Bender. The book is worth it for that story alone, although so many others were great too.

I skipped over most of the nonfiction, although "They Came Out Like Ants!" by William T. Vollmann was interesting. As always, I highly recommend skipping over the Dave Eggers part; in this case, the Foreword.
